    Jeff Wigal Founder

Jeff Wigal has spent the last 20 years developing software to meet the needs of referee assignors. His first assigning project was called Referee Assistant, an installable desktop application used for scheduling sports officials. Referee Assistant has taken its place in history alongside the AOL CD-ROMs that you used to get in the mail.

Jeff’s officiating experience spans 11 years as a soccer referee at the youth, high school, and NCAA Division I level. This also includes time as a referee instructor and a referee assignor for the local high schools in Pullman, Washington.

Jeff has an unhealthy obsession with the movie National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. During the holidays, he can be seen in his Griswold “00” Chicago Blackhawks hockey jersey, sipping on egg nog from his moose mug in his 28′ travel trailer.

Jeff is the founder and creator of assignr.com.

What is assignr.com

Assignr.com has been created to make it as simple as possible to manage sports officials and assignments.

Here are a few reasons that we feel we’re a notch above our competitors:

Easy to use, but sophisticated enough to manage the assigning needs of any sports officiating organization. assignr.com manages the needs of groups of all sizes, including small organizations of 25 officials, and large organizations with more than 500. If you are a small officiating association, you will love the simplicity of our service. If you are a large organization, we’ve got you covered with some great features you will need to make your assigning experience as smooth as possible.

You don’t have to take our word for it… if you would like to talk to some of our larger customers about their experiences regarding our service, contact us and we will be happy to connect you with them.

You won’t need a 30-minute presentation to learn our system. The online documentation will give you in-depth instructions about our system works, but you will quickly be able to master it with minimal setup.

Enterprise-class hardware and software. This is not a “hobby”  – assignr.com wasn’t thrown together in a month. You certainly won’t find the site running on an $8 per month GoDaddy web hosting account. We work with reputable companies like Rackspace, BlueBox, and Amazon Web Services, to ensure that our service is reliable and available.

You will always be speaking with someone who knows the product inside and out. If you are shopping around for sports official assigning systems, don’t forget to also test their customer support. We feel you will be pleasantly surprised with what you will get with assignr.com. When you open a support request, you won’t get a Tier 1 support representative,  you will get someone who can help you with “how-to” instructions about how a feature works, as well as “best practices” advice to ensure you aren’t causing yourself problems down the road.

99.9 percent availability, and 100 percent transparency if we go offline. Our goal is to keep the site up and running as close to 100 percent of the time as possible. 99.9 percent availability averages out to around 45 minutes of downtime per month for planned maintenance events or unscheduled outages. While this may sound like a lot of time to be offline, it also includes any scheduled maintenance, which many other sites exclude. Whenever possible, maintenance is scheduled during off-hours to minimize interruption to the site.

If assignr.com goes offline, updates are posted to our status page, status.assignr.com, so that you will know why assignr.com went offline, and when service should soon be restored. You can also check out our current uptime percentages, and read information about any outages or maintenance events.
